This recipe is Vegan AND gluten-free!
Make sure your plantains are yellow with black spots if you like them sweet. The slightly unripe greenish ones are good to use too, but they are more like regular potato chips, less sweet.
HOW TO MAKE
Preheat oven to 350º degrees.
Cut off the ends of the plantains, and score lengthways with a sharp knife to remove skin.
Slice them all as evenly as possible. The thinner they are the crispier they will be. We like them a little soft, so cut them approx. 4mm in thickness.
Lay out on parchment on your baking tray, and brush chips with olive oil, and sprinkle on your salt.
Bake for 20 minutes, remove from oven, flip them all over, and place in the oven for a further 15-20 minutes. No need to brush them with oil again.
When ready, allow to cool; and if you want a little more flavour, consider adding some chilli powder, turmeric, paprika etc. We used Italian dried herb mix on ours.
We recommend our Red Pepper Saucy Dipz, but any flavour will work with these tasty snacks!
